Re-Editing Blog

Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my blog. Today we'll be continuing the production of the opening sequence for my short film, The Red Room. This time I will be continuing the editing process.

I am grateful for all of the feedback they received, which helped us improve the video to the best of our abilities. The first thing we addressed was the size of the title names. They were huge and made the film hard to be viewed through the text. The second alteration was to the film's title. Nijah had accidentally written the film's title as "Dark Red" rather than "Red Room" so she had to alter it. Voiceovers were also modified. This is because, though, Nijah became unwell throughout the editing process she still recorded the voiceovers. However, the voiceovers she did were only to serve as placeholders until the group received the actual voiceovers for the film. The real voiceovers were done by Callie after the fact and then edited into the places of the stand-ins. Another issue resolved throughout the editing process was the length of the movies. Some clips were way too long and others were way too short. The crew also observed how sloppy some sequences appeared when all the footage was combined. Nijah ended up deciding the solution would be transitions. She added fade in/outs as transitions which made the clips move smoothly. These also let the audio/voiceovers transition in a uniform manner.

That'll be all for today's blog, without further ado, please take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing you next time. It's been Adrian, signing off.
