Let the Production Begin!
Last time my group and I ended our session having done two main things. I started the plan for the project by making a calendar, planning for filming Health and Safety, and hypothesizing filming locations. I also wrote the first draft of our script to act as an acting guideline through our plot. This leads me to the next step of our process which was making a storyboard. I hoped that it would be able to act as a more elaborate visual representation of our script.
In our last project, we collaborated on a physical storyboard where we all contributed to drawing out our joint vision. This time I decided to take a more straightforward approach. Keeping in mind that I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination I opted to use an online storyboard-making website. The website I used was Storyboard That (https://www.storyboardthat.com/). This site was very easy to use with primarily drag-and-drop properties that simplified the storyboarding process. I decided to separate most of the scenes into their own slide on the storyboard. The idea was to simplify the filming process as every clip would be depicted in the order they were to be taken/filmed. The production of the storyboard was actually very simple especially considering it was the first time I used the program. I would highly recommend it
for a concise and simplified storyboard that really ups the professionalism. I was able to complete mine referring to the script in roughly 20-30 minutes. That completed the planning stages of The Red Room's opening sequence, next time we will be moving into the production process.
Without further ado, please take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing you next time. It's been Adrian, signing off.
