The Final Product
Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my blog. This will be the recounting of the final lap, the homestretch of my production process. All the work I had been doing has been leading up this final point, the creation of my commercial. I have collected and organized my photos, videos, and songs. Compiled the media. And created captions for the media in relation to their purpose. That means the last stage of my production process would be the assembling of the commercial. First, I decided on the program I was going to use to create my project, which ended up being CapCut. Next, I uploaded my media to the CapCut website for assembly. That is when I realized I needed a simple way to upload the song for the audio overlay. I ended up screen recording the song from YouTube on my phone (iPhone 13 Pro Max) and then uploading that recording in the form of a video onto CapCut. After all the media was uploaded I was able to start adding them to the project, CapCut has a very simple drag and drop method for adding them. I inputted them in the desired order which ended up being: 2 infant pictures, childhood picture, video 1, then tweenhood picture, video 2, and finally my teenage/current picture. Then I added the video of the screen recorded song (I decided on "Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep sea-fishing" by Lana Del Ray) under the "Extract Audio" option under "Audio". I then worked on the durations of my photos and the fading in and out of the song in relation to the start and end of the videos. This took a lot more time then I would've expected, but in the end I got the timing as close to how I wanted them as I could. Next I added the captions, this was pretty simple as, as you may recall, I had already written them earlier in the production process. I simply added text boxes and then copied down the descriptions. That was for all except one, photo three, which I also decided to shift the picture to the far left in order to have the text more comprehensively, and arguably aesthetically, placed with the image. After adding the captions I moved on the the final task which was a little credits slide where I included my name, grade, the song title, and the song artist. And that was basically it, there were a couple miscellaneous fixes after my revisions, but that was my All About Me Commercial Production process. I hope it was an enjoyable read and as fun to follow along with as it was to create. It's been Adrian, signing off.
