A Bump in the Road

Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my blog. This post is going to serve as an update on the production of my All About Me commercial. Last time I was able to finish my photos and their connecting ideas for the commercial. This included rationalizing the purpose and value of each photo, using that value I created captions highlighting significance, and then I created a folder to start grouping the media that I'm using. Starting this next section I intended to get over the halfway point in the finalization of all my media. My to-do list was a little longer than the last time since I was able to complete that fairly easily in the desired time frame. Firstly, I wanted to determine the two videos I was going to use. Secondly, I wanted to think about meaningful placements for my videos from a storytelling standpoint. Then, I wanted to compile the finalized video choices. Finally, I thought it would be good to line out the expectations for the next stage of my production. Starting with objective number one I had already met an issue. As stated in a prior blog, I knew exactly which videos I wanted to use and where to find them. They were two videos relating to the Christmas my sister and I got the Xbox 360 gaming console (I previously thought it was the PlayStation 3 but my dad corrected me). I knew these videos were kept in my mom's OneDrive, however, when I went to look for the videos I found out that my mom was and had been unable to get into her OneDrive account. I tried to help her reset the password and look at the saved passwords on her iPad, but in the end, the videos could not be accessed. I ended up having to settle for two different videos that I was able to find from my dad's Google Photos. The first video I decided on was a video of me at my sixth birthday party being sung Happy Birthday by my family off camera. The second was of me walking at my fifth grade moving up ceremony. As for the second objective on my list I decided on just using chronological order for determining the placement of the videos. I felt this best fit the overarching theme of the events throughout my life and how they built me into the person I am today. Then, I moved on to compiling the videos. This ended up being very simple as I just had to forward the photos from my dad's Google Photos account to my account, then I saved them to the same 'AICE Media Studies' folder as my photos. To complete this stage of my production process I decided to brainstorm a to-do list for the next stage. I want to: Get feedback on my videos and photos; Decide on a purposeful song choice; Decide which excerpt I will use from the song; Draft some preemptive backup songs; And finally conclude the media collection portion of my production. That's what I've been able to do so far, and a little of what I have coming up next. This is Adrian, signing off.
