A Brief Look Back, Introspection
Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to my blog. Following the completion of my All About Me commercial I would like to take this opportunity to conclude with a general reflection of what I have learned throughout the duration of this project. Firstly, we will discuss the expansion of my knowledge of CapCut. CapCut is the video editing software that I used to edit my commercial. At first, I had only chosen this software because it was the only choice that I was familiar with, as I had used it previously for some miscellaneous edits and funny clips. However, this project served as a great opportunity for me to delve deep into the functions and niches of the application. I was able to learn valuable skills for future utilizations of the software, such as how to manipulate text boxes, how to fade in/out audio, how to add background music to the presentation, etc. In addition, I learned how to share and edit media directly from my phone to my computer via the utilization of the website and the mobile app simultaneously. Though the editing process was rocky at first I have left with imperative knowledge that will alleviate my future endeavors and am glad that I chose to use CapCut. Next, we will discuss the knowledge I have been able to gain about putting together the project. The main points I have discovered have been that organization is key, setting deadlines is essential to keeping track of progress, and that flexibility is a virtue that will take you a long way. As for organization, early in my production process, I allowed myself to slip into a little bit of a cycle of procrastination. This left me, for a time, behind on my progress. Though I was able to recover with little significant blowback it was a wake-up call that showed me that without organization what could have been one simple task held the potential to snowball into an insurmountable disaster. This basically encompasses my next point, setting deadlines. Setting deadlines allowed me to not only keep track of the work I had done, but also to pace myself throughout the project, the perfect counteractive measure to a lack of organization. The last point is flexibility. I am quite an orderly person in many respects and I require a lot of clarity and concision in my endeavors. This led to me coming to a standstill in my work when the trajectory of my project shifted, which I eventually had to overcome. Lastly, what I can do to make my next project better would be to not only apply the aforementioned points but also to not be afraid to take a leap of faith. I feel that most of my project's progression's stalling was due to uncertainty. I tend to look for and expect things to take a certain course. I hope going into the next project I will be able to think a little more out of the box. In doing this the hope is that I can better present my own original take on projects that make my projects really a direct product of me. Media can be closely related to art and art is something subjective and expressive. I hope to make my projects more than projects, I hope to make them stories and adventures and experiments. Going into my next project, I wish to reinvent my spark and apply it to the work I produce in all aspects of my life. I hope you're as excited as me for this next chapter. And it's been Adrian, signing off.
